Anti Wrinkle Injectables
There are two main types of S4 medications (prescription only) used for the procedures. The first is used to weaken muscle activity and the other adds volume to the areas of need.Current Australian Government regulations restricts the use of the names of the medications used for these procedures.
When we are young our skin springs back to it is original position after facial expression. As we get older, collagen decreases and environmental factors such as sunlight, smoking and stress reduces skin tone, causing wrinkles and facial lines to become more prominent.
Cosmetic procedures are becoming more popular as both the younger & older generation seek these treatments as a prevention to further ageing.
Muscle Relaxants
Muscle relaxants are a neuromuscular blocking agent which when injected, block the release of acetycholine. This action relaxes and weakens the muscles that cause forehead, frown lines, crows feet and other facial lines to form. After three to seven days, you will notice a much smoother softer rejuvenated facial appearance. The product is a natural purified protein derived from bacteria in much the same way as penicillin is derived from mould and is manufactured in sterile laboratory conditions.
Dermal Fillers
Dermal Fillers are used to add volume. This product is a gel, which simply plumps up skin tissue when injected beneath the surface. By adding volume to areas, where there is loss of volume we can create a more natural and softer look for you. (Refer adjacent image.)Dermal fillers are now well advanced and especially prepared containing local anaesthetic to increase comfort.
Often both muscle relaxants and dermal fillers are used to augment and compliment each other, especially where there are areas of deeper lines and wrinkles. Riverina Cosmetic Medicine uses only pharmaceutical approved cosmetic products from Allergan Australia Pty Ltd. and Galderma Australia Pty Ltd.
There are three main types of dermal fillers:
- Dermal Filler for fine superficial lines eg around the mouth, lip enhancements;
- Dermal Filler for deeper more prominent lines eg forehead lines and smile lines;and
- A thicker form of Filler to add further volume to deeper folds, cheek, jaw line, chin and temporal areas
Microdermabrasion
This non-surgical exfoliating procedure gently smooths the skin while stimulating the deeper collagen improving elasticity and tone.Your skin will feel vibrant and healthy, and you will notice an immediate difference in your softer, smoother appearance. A series of microdermabrasion treatments helps to reduce fine lines and superficial wrinkles. There is no discomfort and you can return to work immediately.
This procedure also reduces the appearance of hyperpigmentation and skin blemishes, often caused by sun damage. It improves acne and acne scarring, and reduces the appearance of open pores by unclogging sebum (oil) build-up.
A series of six sessions is recommended initially for the first six weeks.Additional treatments at three-monthly intervals will maintain your skin in excellent condition. Most clients actually feel and see a difference just after one or two treatments.
All clients at Riverina Cosmetic Medicine will receive in addition to their microdermabrasion treatment, a low level form of laser/phototherapy. The Blue LED attachment is specifically used to treat acne–causing bacteria.
The Infrared LED light rebuilds the dermis to create a more rejuvenated appearance and helps to produce more collagen. Relax and enjoy your total facial rejuvenation experience…
Hyperhidrosis
Do you suffer from excessive perspiration? Are you a personal trainer, or embarrassed at business meetings? You are not alone! Sweating is a natural and normal function of the human body, and when you perspire excessively, it is a medical condition known as Hyperhidrosis. This condition affects up to 3% of the population and can be treated.A natural purified protein is placed under the skin which temporarily blocks the release of the chemical which causes overactive sweat glands and excessive perspiration.Hyperhidrosis can have a significant negative impact on how you feel, what you do and what you wear. This condition may cause uncontrolled sweating in various parts of the body including hands, feet and more commonly, the underarms. Many people who have Hyperhidrosis often try to cope with it by hiding it, or altering their daily activities. There is no need to do this anymore.
